PLANO, Texas (January 15, 2026) — Christian content creator Jason Jackson Jr. grew up chasing dreams of success bigger than his circumstances until a moment of honesty caused him to set his sights on something even greater. He details his journey in a new short film released today by I Am Second.
Jason’s early childhood was marked by adversity, beginning with his father’s imprisonment before his first birthday. From a young age, he looked for ways to earn money, determined to help ease the financial burden his mother carried as a single parent. While living with friends and family members, Jason was first introduced to Jesusthrough the faithful influence of families who made church a priority.
“When I look back on my life, I constantly see the hand of God,” said Jason.
In seventh grade, Jason’s curiosity about the Christian faith deepened after watching I Am Second’s “Dysfunction to Dynasty” featuring Phil Robertson. It wasn’t until his freshman year of college, however, that he experienced a true encounter with Jesus during a critical turning point in his life. This time, it was through a video featuring “Duck Dynasty” and “Duck Dynasty: The Revival” star Sadie Robertson.
During that same season, Jason’s first love — the game of football — began to slowly take over his identity. As he struggled to fit into the college athlete lifestyle and party culture, hearing Sadie’s encouragement set him on a path of true transformation. He eventually decided to quit the sport, letting go of his dream to play in the National Football League and seeking to fully dedicate his life to glorifying God.
“I gave up because football was slowly becoming who I was and not what I did anymore,” Jason said. “I never wanted that to be my story. I knew Jason Jackson Jr. had more to his life then just being a football player.”
After graduating college and moving to Houston, Jason found himself facing many obstacles. During his time of struggle, he was reminded of his need to fully rely on God and not his own personal success. Amidst his struggles, he tried to negotiate with God that if his dream of being a motivational speaker was answered, he would tell the world about Him. But he then heard God’s voice saying, “Why can’t you tell the world about me now?”
This divine nudge led Jason to start creating faith-based content on social media in early 2023. Shortly after Jason released his first video, his content quickly went viral and he began to gain followers. Today, Jason continues sharing God’s truth and has amassed over 600,000 followers across his platforms. Social media has also led Jason to beginhis career in entertainment, with his new talk show “The Pew” launching this spring.
“I can’t believe that God actually chose me to live this life,” said Jackson. “None of it is for my glory. None of it is for my praise. It’s all to give glory to God and that’s the reason why I do what I do.”
