I have discovered that when I rely on God’s Spirit, and take Him at His Word, I can know things and do things that I can’t do in the “natural”. For instance, my computer printer just jammed. Usually, when that happens, I have to wait until my husband, Joe, gets home before I can use it again. This time, however, the Holy Spirit brought to mind First Corinthians 1:24 (NIV), which says: “But to those whom God has called…Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.” I decided to follow the Spirit’s lead, so I prayed: “Lord Jesus, I thank You that Your Word says that You are made unto me the power of God and the wisdom of God. Therefore, I ask that You impart Your supernatural power and wisdom to me in this situation. I believe that I receive them now, and I thank You and praise You for them, in Jesus’ name.”
Suddenly, I knew exactly what to do to fix my printer, and as soon as I remedied the problem, I lifted my hands in praise and thanksgiving for the Lord’s help, and for His faithfulness to His Word. As a follower of Christ, you too have supernatural power and wisdom available to you every moment of every day. Don’t try to be a godly parent or grandparent without the Lord’s guidance or enablement. Instead, take God at His Word, and receive all the divine assistance that is your inheritance in Christ!
