“Greetings from San Antonio, TX” by Satellites & Sirens

SATELLITES & SIRENS “Blood, Sweat, and Rock ‘n Roll Tour” BLOG 2:

It’s 11am, and I’m sitting in the lobby of our hotel here in San Antonio, TX and I can’t help but feel truly blessed to be able to play music and share God’s love to people every night.  Each night we meet new and amazing people that also bless us much more than we feel like we could do for them.  As an example, three young men came up to us after our show last night and asked us if they could pray for us.  They asked us each what we would like prayer for, and they proceeded to pray into each of those needs.  I can’t quite explain the feeling of being truly loved by complete strangers in such a genuine and Godly way.  Their honesty and encouragement struck me, as I don’t doubt one bit that God set them in our path last night.  These young men are on the front lines here in San Antonio, ministering to gang members and drug dealers, those that most folks would be wary of approaching.  The fact that they would also come and take the time to minister and pray for a bunch of rag-tag musicians really struck a chord with me.  It says in Matthew 18:19-20, “Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.”  In that moment in prayer with those men, I know God heard us, and heard our needs, and our hearts…and I know he is blessing each of those guys in ways that they don’t even know yet.  Thank you San Antonio.

As for the tour thus far, we couldn’t be happier getting to know the guys in Disciple and Decyfer Down, and all the guys in the stage crew.  Though, learning everyone’s names has proven to be a bit of a challenge.  We’ve been having fun riding in our van quizzing ourselves on who is who.  I’ve already been calling people by the wrong name, which has thankfully been more funny than awkward.  I think for the time being I’ll stick with token “Hey Dude” or “Hey Man”, versus making myself look ridiculous (I’m really quite good at that).  Although, I could just give everyone nicknames…hmmm.  I’ll think on that one.

Thanks to everyone for tuning in to our tour blog again.  Be blessed, and know that God loves you more than you can even know…which is a really difficult concept to grasp sometimes, myself included.  He is faithful, He is true, and He’s excited to be a part of your life.

In Christ.

David
