Committing Our Children to God
Lord, I commit my children to You, and I ask that You make them willing and obedient, so that they may always receive Your highest and best. I pray that they would always give You first place in their lives, and live as You want them to, so that they will always have everything they need. I pray that all my children would be taught by You, Lord, and that their peace and well-being would be great. Thank You that You will contend with those who contend with me, and You will give safety to my children, and ease them day by day! (Isaiah 1:19; Matthew 6:33; Isaiah 54:13; Isaiah 49:25)
Safety and Protection
Lord, on the basis of Your Word, I ask that You spread Your protection over my children this day. Keep them from all harm, and watch over their lives. Watch over their coming and their going both now and forevermore. Be a wall of fire around them, Lord. Let Your favor surround them like a shield. Give Your angels charge over them to guard them in all of their ways, so that no harm or evil will befall them. Thank You, Lord, that Your angels are encamped all around my children–to rescue and deliver them from all evil, harm, destruction, disease, and defeat! (Psalm 5:11; Psalm 121:7-8; Zechariah 2:5; Psalm 5:12; Psalm 91:11; Psalm 34:7)
Guidance and Direction
Lord, help my children to trust in You with all of their hearts, and to not depend on their own wisdom or understanding. I pray that in all of their ways, they will acknowledge You and seek Your will, so that You will direct their paths, and make them straight and plain. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Order my children’s steps, Lord. Make their steps sure and firm. Uphold them with Your righteous right hand, so that they will never stumble or fall. I pray that no matter what they plan—no matter what anyone else plans for them—that You, Lord, will direct their steps and make them sure, and that Your purposes will prevail in every area of their lives, and in every matter that concerns them. (Psalm 37:23-24; Proverbs 16:9; Proverbs 19:21)
Lord, shut against my children every wrong door, and open wide before them every right door. Make them sensitive and obedient to Your Spirit’s leading in all things, so that they will always walk in Your perfect will, and receive Your absolute best! (Revelation 3:7-8; Galatians 5:25)
Instruct my children, Lord, and teach them in the way they should go. Counsel them, watch over them, and guide them with Your eye. Lead them in the paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake, and help them to always do what honors You the most. Grant them teachable spirits, perfect hearts, and willing minds. Equip them with everything good for doing Your will, and work in them what is pleasing to You—through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen! (Psalm 32:8-9; Psalm 23:3; 1 Chronicles 28:9; Hebrews 13:20-21)
Show my children Your ways, O Lord. Teach them Your paths. Guide them in Your truth and teach them. For You are God, our Savior, and our hope is in You all day long. (Psalm 25:4-5)
Teach my children Your ways, O Lord, so that they will walk in Your truth. Give them undivided hearts, that they may fear Your name. Teach them to do Your will, for You are our God. May Your good Spirit lead them on level ground. (Psalm 86:11; Psalm 143:10)
Health, Healing, and Wholeness
Lord, send forth Your Word and heal my children, in every way that they need healing. Deliver them from all their destructions, and rescue them from all their distress. Bless their food and water, and remove all sickness from them, Lord. I ask that You fulfill Your promise by restoring my children to health and healing their wounds. Keep them free from every disease, according to Your Word, for You are a faithful God! (Psalm 107:19-20; Exodus 23:25; Psalm 103:2-3; Jeremiah 33:6; Jeremiah 30:17; Deuteronomy 7:15)
Lord, I pray that my children would always prosper in every way, and that their bodies would keep well, even as their souls keep well and prosper. I pray that they would never be wise in their own eyes, but that they would always fear You, and depart from evil. Thank You, Lord, that this will be health and healing to their bodies, and vigor and strength to their bones. I pray that my children would always attend to Your words, for they are life to them, and they are health and healing to all of their flesh. (3 John 2; Proverbs 3:7-8; Proverbs 4:20-22)
Lord, I declare that You are our Divine Physician and our Healer. I believe and say that Your healing power is working mightily in every fiber of my children’s being right now. Their health is springing forth speedily. Their healing is quickly appearing. Thank You that the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead abides in my children, and gives life and health to their mortal bodies every moment of every day! (Exodus 15:26; Acts 9:34; Isaiah 58:8; Romans 8:11)
Lord, lead my children along Your perfect pathway of healing and wholeness, and help them to follow You closely, and to cooperate with You fully and joyfully all the way. Make Yourself real to my children now in healing, comforting, and life-changing ways. Help them to always seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, so that all these things—even perfect health and wholeness—will be given to them as well! (John 14:21; Matthew 6:33)
Trusting God to Change Our Children
Lord, I thank You that You’ve begun a good work in my children, and You’ll continue to perform it until the Day of Jesus Christ. Thank You that You’re creating in them the power, and the desire, both to will and to work for Your good pleasure, satisfaction, and delight. Thank You that You will perfect that which concerns my children, and You’ll fulfill Your purpose for their lives! (Philippians 1:16; Philippians 2:13; Psalm 138:8)
Lord, create in my children new, clean hearts, filled with clean thoughts and right desires. Restore to them again the joy of Your salvation, and make them willing to obey You. (Psalm 51:10,12 TLB)
Salvation and Deliverance
Lord, I ask that You give my children eyes to see, ears to hear, and hearts to understand and be converted and healed. (John 12:40)
Open their eyes, Lord; turn them from darkness to light, from the power of Satan to You, God, so that they may receive a place among those who are sanctified by faith in Jesus Christ, in whose holy name I pray. (Acts 26:17)
Grant them repentance, Lord. Lead them to a knowledge of the truth. Grant that they may come to their senses and escape the devil’s snares and make Jesus the Lord of their lives. Grant that they may prove their repentance by their deeds. (2 Timothy 2:25-26)
Lord, send forth Your Holy Spirit to open their minds and hearts to receive the truth, and to act on it. (John 14:16-17)
Protection from Gossip and Slander
Lord, I pray that no weapon formed against my children shall prosper, and that every tongue that rises against them shall be condemned and proven wrong swiftly and surely every time. Hide them in the shelter of Your presence from the plots of wicked people, and keep them safe from accusing tongues. Thank You that peace, security, and triumph over opposition are my children’s inheritance from You, and You will see to it that everything works out for their best! (Isaiah 54:17; Psalm 31:20)
Living a Life of Love
Lord, teach my children to love others with the God-kind of love. Make them patient and kind. Guard them from jealousy and envy. Help them to never be boastful or proud, selfish or rude. Teach them not to demand their own way, or to be irritable or touchy. I pray that they would refuse to hold grudges, and that they would hardly notice when others do them wrong. May they never give up, and never lose faith. May they always be hopeful, and endure through every circumstance. May their love last forever! (1 Corinthians 13:4-8 TLB, NLT)
Joy
Lord, grant my children a fresh anointing of Your joy this day, which fills them with supernatural strength. Give them happy hearts that do them good like a medicine, and cheerful minds that work healing. Deliver them from a spirit of heaviness and despair, and clothe them in a garment of praise and thanksgiving. Whenever sorrow or sadness threaten to overwhelm them, help them to lift their hands and declare, “Yet I will rejoice in the Lord! I will be joyful in God my Savior!” (Nehemiah 8:10; Proverbs 17:22; Isaiah 61:3; Habakkuk 3:18)
Success in Work
Lord, deliver and protect my children from all forms of dread, especially the dread that leads to procrastination. Teach them how to rejoice in all of their labors, and to enjoy all of their work, even the most mundane and trivial tasks. Remind them that no matter what they are doing, they are actually working for You, and not for themselves or others. Bless all their skills, O Lord, and be pleased with the work of their hands. Grant that their labor will find favor in the sight of God and man. And enable them to earn a good living doing what they love to do. In every endeavor, task, and undertaking, direct all of their efforts and crown them with success. In Jesus’ name and for Your glory! (Ecclesiastes 5:19; Colossians 3:23-24; Deuteronomy 33:11; Proverbs 3:6)
Finances
Lord, forgive my children for poor stewardship, and deliver them from overspending and impulse buying. Teach them how to save for the future, but make them generous givers, too. I ask that You make all grace abound toward them so that in all things, at all times, they will have all that they need—even a surplus for every good work. Help them to sow bountifully, blessing others, and to reap bountifully, and with blessings. Make them rich in every way so that they can be generous on every occasion. Thank You for giving my children all of the wisdom and discipline they need to handle their finances wisely from now on. (2 Corinthians 9:8; 2 Corinthians 9:6; 2 Corinthians 9:11)
