“Change And Growth: Two Of My Most Recent Life Experiences” by Laura Sproull

Okay.  So I guess I took a little longer than expected to write another blog, and for this I apologize.  I’m sure you are all familiar with the concept of change.  Sometimes change is good and other times it can be the worst experience ever.  I experienced a lot of change and growth this summer and even now during the start of the school year.  A lot of the change dealt with family issues (for instance, my aunt and uncle are finalizing their divorce soon) and even friend issues (I am now unable to see a friend of mine that I’ve known for 7 years because of distance and I have no idea when I’ll ever be able to see her again) but some of it consisted of my own personal experiences.  I am a senior in high school this year and I’m also taking college classes, two “milestones” I honestly thought I’d never reach.  Let me clarify: when I was about 12 I started to think about some of the changes and transitions that would take place as I got older, such as getting my driver’s license, taking the SAT, and graduating high school.  Two of those have already been completed and the third is now a work in progress….wow.  It’s amazing how time flies and all the things you dream of experiencing have already passed and are happening now.  It’s a scary feeling because you never know what changes and growth experiences might be just around the corner.  Sometimes you wonder if those changes will help you for the better or completely tear your apart and take you forever to recover.  Fortunately, God is always in our midst and will help us along the way.  He knows the changes we will go through and how we’ll react.  The awesome part is that He will always help us recover and get us through the hard times in our lives.  He promises to strengthen us even in our weakest moments and guide us in the right direction.  I just want to encourage all of you: whatever you may be going through or will be going through, God is there and will help you.  You don’t have to go through this life alone.  Jesus Christ is there for you, and will bring you through the storms of life.
